Privacy Policy for SolarAlign

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) to external servers. All data processing occurs locally on your device.

• Location & City Data: The App allows you to select cities to retrieve historical solar radiation data. This selection is used solely to calculate solar potential on your device. We do not track your real-time GPS location.
• System Configuration: Values you input (Solar cell efficiency, Performance Factor, Installation Area) are stored locally in the App’s internal database (Room) for your convenience and are not shared with us or any third party.

To provide its core functionality, the App requires access to specific device features:

• Sensors (Orientation / Rotation Vector): The App uses your device’s magnetometer and accelerometer (via the Rotation Vector sensor) to determine the tilt and azimuth (direction) of your device. This is used in real-time to simulate solar panel orientation. This data is processed in memory and is not stored or shared.
• Storage / Files: The App requires permission to save and share the “Yield Report” PDF files you generate. We use a FileProvider to securely share these reports with your PDF viewer or email client.

The App uses an internal database to store:

• Selected city information.
• Calculated solar yield data.
• User preferences (Area, Efficiency, Performance Factor, etc.).

This data remains on your device. If you uninstall the App, this data will be permanently deleted unless you have manually saved reports elsewhere.

The App is built using standard Android libraries and the iText7 library for PDF generation. We do not include third-party advertising SDKs, analytics trackers (like Google Analytics), or social media plugins that collect your data.

Calculations provided by SolarAlign are based on the HDKR anisotropic sky model and historical EnergyPlus Weather (EPW) data.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
